OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27 –1)
Beyond the boundaries of the course, beyond white stakes or white line defining the boundary of the course.
- The Car Park, Clubhouse area, Practice Putting Green and surround, and Machinery compound.
IMMOVEABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24 – 2)
- Seats, Tee Markers, Signs, Ball Washers, Flower Beds, Litter Bins, Distance Markers, Shelters, Wooden Steps, Ladders, Direction Indicators, Protective Wire on Tees.
- All Watering Installations, All Artificial Paths.
- Young trees less than a club length in height (all other trees are in play staked or not)
- Artificial Hole covers and Sprinkler Heads on a Putting Green intervening on the line of putt place ball at nearest point of relief that is not nearer the hole.
- If a ball lies off the putting green, but not in a hazard, and a sprinkler head on or within two club lengths of the putting green, and within two club lengths of the ball, intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole the player may take relief by lifting the ball and dropping at THE NEAREST POINT to where the ball lay that is NOT nearer the hole, avoids intervention and is NOT in a hazard or on a putting green
GROUND UNDER REPAIR ( Rule 25-1)
- (Lift., clean and drop without penalty within one club length of and not nearer the hole than the nearest point of relief.. )
- All ground so marked
- On the putting green a ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole may be placed at the nearest spot not nearer the hole, that avoids the situation.
WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26)
- Water Hazards are defined by yellow stakes. Lateral Water Hazards are defined by red stakes . Stakes and Lines defining water hazard are in the Water Hazard.
- All Bridges crossing over Water hazards form part of the hazard. Rule 13-4
OTHER
- Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions
(Rule 24 -1) - If a ball strikes an elevated power line or cable the stroke must be cancelled and re-played without penalty (Rule 20-5)
A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distances only. If the device gauges or measures other conditions, the player is in breach of rule 14-3 and is disqualified regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.
