Junior Cup this Weekend
The South Munster region of the Junior Cup is on in Skibbereen Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday 2nd and 3th of June. Skibbereen play Douglas at 8.30am Saturday with the winners playing Kinsale in the afternoon. The teams are made up of 5 players playing singles matchplay all off a handicap of 5.
There will be no men’s or ladies competition on Sunday

Bruin Team lost to lisselan
The Jimmy Bruin Team came up against a very strong Lisselan Team in Bandon on Saturday 11th june losing 3.5/1.5 . The Clonakilty Team went on to beat Berehaven and Bandon before losing to Cobh in the final on Sunday afternoon. The Skibb team was Alan Byrne/Dermot O’Flaherty, Tim Collins/Donald McCarthy, Jerome O’Driscoll/Fergal Morgan, David Ring/Darragh Calahane, Pat McCarthy/Darren O’Brien.
Junior & McEnvoy Shield Team just Short
The Men’s Club had two teams in action last weekend . The Junior and McEvoy Shield Teams played in Bantry and Kenmare.
In terrible conditions in Bantry the Junior Shield Team come up one point short to qualify for the semi-finals . Over the mountain in Kenmare condition were equally as bad for the McEvoy Team who came second to the home favourite.
The selectors would like to thank all the players of both teams for playing so well in wet and windy conditions.
