Eileen Fitzsimons wins organic lamb in Spring prize draw

Eileen Fitzsimons was the lucky winner of half an organic lamb in our Spring prize draw. Eileen can now stock her freezer with tender lamb cuts (prepared, bagged and frozen).

Skibbereen ladies’ club host ILGU Interclub Championships

The ladies’ club hosted Round 1 matches of the ILGU Private Home Care Interclub Championships last Saturday and the day was a tremendous success, with teams visiting from Bandon, Kinsale, Lee Valley, Berehaven, Dunmore, Lisselan, Ringenane and Bantry.

Lady Captain Teresa O’Sullivan thanked volunteers from the ladies’ club for all their hard work and participation on the day, ball spotting, assisting on the course and helping in the clubhouse. Particular gratitude was extended to the bar staff who provided a warm welcome and excellent service for the club visitors.

Following the matches:

  • Lee Valley are through to Round 2 of the Intermediate Cup beating Berehaven.
  • Kinsale and Dunmore are through to Round 2 of the Minor Cup beating Lisselan and Ringenane respectively.
  • In the Challenge Cup, Dunmore beat Bantry and Macroom defeated the Bandon team to progress to Round 2.

The remaining Round 1 matches will be hosted by Macroom next Sunday 6th May and all supporters are welcome.

Seniors’ successful trip to Farrangalway

Monday’s trip to Farrangalway arranged with the help of Pat O’Driscoll proved a great success; 18 members made the journey to the Kinsale course and enjoyed a great days’ golf. Jim Linnane, Pat White and Kevin Barry took the prize and were followed in second place by Geoff Wycherley, Charlie Poillot and Steve Rourke. Leo Werner, Pat Kirwan and Seamus O’Mahony came third.

Ladies’ Wednesday timesheet competitions now online

Ladies’ competition tee times are available online for Wednesday sponsored timesheet competitions. Working ladies may enter Wednesday’s competition on the previous Sunday.

Book tee times online 24/7 from your home or office at skibbgolf.com (click on Tee Times), online on the clubhouse computer in the bar or ask Eamonn at the clubhouse to reserve a place for you.

Eamonn is happy to help any member requiring assistance registering or using the new tee time system so if you need help, just ask!
